The Importance of a Health and Safety Officer:
Every employer is being bounded health and Safety at Work Act of 1974, as it possesses duties and responsibilities of health and safety for employees, employers and other level staffs as manufactures, designers, landlords etc. Business needs to employ competent people as a health and safety officer, auditor, employer or any other external person.

This will provide the owners of peace of mind, that health and safety needs are met effectively and permits management to concentrate on various other targets which are related to cost, profit and productivity.


The Role of a Health and Safety Officer:

The ultimate goal of the Health and Safety officer is to minimize accidents, injuries / work-related health issues in the workplace.

Their responsibility is to give assurance to employees the awareness and knowledge about this policy. 

Their other main role is doing regular inspection and risk assessment and make sure that any hazard/ defects have been solved as soon as possible.
They usually hold an accident record book and collect findings completely, investigate for any incident and accident by providing improvements in safety measures if needed.

The safety officer also provides safety training and educating employees on safety issues, helping them in assessing appropriate clothing, using equipment where needed.
They are the key point of contacting any number of who has any enquires and query related to health and safety at the workplace.

The health and safety are much committed to the management also they work closely with the management also as health and safety inspectors and unions.

The duty of health and safety officer varies according to the nature of the business, like safeguarding machine, noise control, fire safety, controlling chemical substances, environmental health, occupational health etc.
